There will always be a few dogs here and there who have problems and some will always turn out badly. This is usually entirely attributable to how the dog is brought up and trained. A dog like the German Shepard is a great dog to have, but it needs a lot of time and attention…
You can get a lot out of a good German Shepard and you don’t really have to have one from a puppy. If you get one that has been looked after well, you will find that they are very sociable creatures and can usually fit in with most families and individuals without much of a problem; as long as they know who is in charge! However, you should always be responsible if you have children and if you insist on getting a dog that you don’t know then you should do your utmost to ensure that each of the homes it has come from have been happy ones and the dog has experienced no problems with its development.
There are a few things you need to know about the German Shepard. It is of course quite a big dog, and it’s not the ideal situation to keep it in a small environment. There are a few idiots in the world who will choose to keep a large dog like this in a flat, and it is absolutely ridiculous! A German Shepard is by its very nature an active working dog and will constantly need to be outside in the fresh air with preferably lots of room to at least get into a run. Besides all this, the German Shepard is also quite a hairy dog, and it’s never good to have one of those in your house or flat; they are best in kennels outide.
