You’ve heard the phrase you are what you eat haven’t you? I’m sure you have. Well it works out pretty much the same for dogs too you know. If you feed them the same kind of garbage you eat, no matter how much you think it’s good for you, you will give them a coronary… Read more…
This is a continuation of an earlier blog on taking care of German Shepard dogs, and it will be invaluable if you are considering buying one, raising a pup, or rescuing one from a home… Read more…
There will always be a few dogs here and there who have problems and some will always turn out badly. This is usually entirely attributable to how the dog is brought up and trained. A dog like the German Shepard is a great dog to have, but it needs a lot of time and attention… Read more…

Alright, so you’ve read the other post, where i have tried in desperation to put you off the idea of buying a puppy, and you still want one. You are convinced that you are the only human being on the planet immune to anger and frustration when a puppy craps all over you new sofa… Read more…

You might want to read an earler post of mine on Actions speaking louder than words. The basic idea is that dogs don’t speak human languages and they never will, and we will never speak a dog’s language because as far as we know they don’t have one. However you can still train your dog with time and good consistent methods… Read more…
I am going to write a couple of posts about this and engage a different problem with puppy training in each of them. The first one will be about the feeding, walking and general training of your puppy… Read more…
Feeding is a point that many people never really consider much about. There are dog foods in supermarkets, so people go along to the supermarket and buy the dog food that appears in the prettiest tin, or more likely the one that has a picture of their dog breed on it… Read more…
Did you get a new puppy for Christmas? Yes? Oh, well if you did, congratulations and welcome to the world of dogs and their wonderful little quirks. It’s a world i’m happy to be a part of and a world i’m happy to offer a few pointers to you in…
Your new puppy will of course need training. It’ll also need feeding, and grooming and cleaning up after, worming, innoculating, and numerous other things that will take a lot of time, money and dedication. But you knew all this right? Otherwise you wouldn’t have got one would you? No, of course not. But there is one more thing far greater than any of the others i’ve listed. One thing dogs need above all else, and from which all the fundamentals will follow naturally. Love. Your dog needs love more than anything in the world.
If you are a parent already, before a dog owner, you’ll know what i’m talking about. Simply because you are a parent it doesn’t make you happy about cleaning up shit and puke and spending your money of worthless pieces of junk that get ruined within the first week of ownership, does it? No of course it doesn’t. What makes you do all these things is love. If you are a parent you will already have experienced that special love you have for your children, and you will realise what you have to do to make their lives complete; this is exactly the feeling you must have for your puppy, for when you do, the rest will happen without a hitch.
Good luck with your new puppy, and i envy you that feeling you have inside! It is truly wonderful.
